Company Process

1. Initial Meeting:

Our initial meeting is held in our showroom where you will meet with Charles Ward, CKD, owner of Ward’s Kitchens & Baths.   During this meeting we will discuss your goals for your remodeling project, listen to your ideas and talk about materials you may like to incorporate into your new space.  We will discuss your budget and review our business procedure.  You will also have an opportunity to view our portfolio of previous projects.

To help us visualize your space and understand your goals, please download our “Getting Started Packet“.  Please bring the completed packet along with any photos you may have of your space.   At the conclusion of this meeting, we will have a general idea of the size and scope of your project.  This, in addition to over 25 years of remodeling experience and similar past projects will allow us to give you an idea of the investment you will be making in your home.  Provided we both agree on the scope of the project, budget range and mutually agree that we would like to work together we will then schedule a convenient time to visit your home.

“We are big fans of Ward’s Kitchens & Baths. This is because you have proven yourselves on every detail and at every step of two major projects for us.  My advice to anyone considering remodeling is to go straight to Ward’s.  There has to be a “best” in every field of endeavor.  In kitchen and bath design, Ward’s is the best!”   – Pat and Jim H.

“We made the best decision in selecting Ward’s Kitchens & Baths. No one does it like you!” – Kathy W.

2. In-Home Visit:

During this meeting we will tour the space to be renovated and again review your goals for your remodeling project.  We will also confirm the scope of your project and your budget are in alignment.  If both are in alignment and you would like to retain us to design and complete your project, we will make notes and take the measurements and photos necessary to begin space planning and preparation of our comprehensive proposal.

“From the first day we met you we knew this was going to be a delightful experience!”  – Connie and Dan S.

“Instead of being a frustrating experience, this has been a happy experience for me.  Thank you for giving me the most beautiful and functional kitchen I ever could have dreamed of!”  – Barbara R

3. Proposal and Retainer:

Our third meeting will be held in our showroom where we will present to you our comprehensive proposal for the design and completion of your renovation project.  Please expect to tender a retainer in the amount of 10% of the proposed value of your project at the conclusion of this meeting.  You will then be placed on our construction schedule and we will arrange a convenient time to begin the design process.

“I can’t imagine anyone equaling Ward’s Kitchens & Baths on a value-for-the-money basis” – Pat and Jim H.

“It’s refreshing to work with a family who cares so much about pleasing the customer.  You have created a first rate business and the quality of work speaks for itself” – Nancy and Jack

4. Design Process:

Every project is meticulously planned before any construction begins ensuring your new space is ideally suited for you, your family or guests.   Since we are a customdesign/build company each space is personalized to meet your needs and the possibilities are endless.  However, during the design process you will be expertly guided through all the design, product and construction decisions – detailing every aspect of your project.   By the conclusion of the design process every detail of your new space including layout, cabinetry design, countertops, backsplash, flooring, lighting design, plumbing and electrical fixtures, hardware, wall coverings, window treatments and more, will have been decided upon.  This ensures a detailed, comprehensive and aesthetically pleasing design for your space that reflects your personality, lifestyle and design ideals.

“You did a superb job of listening to our “Wish lists”. We appreciate how quickly you understood our tastes and came up with designs that reflected those tastes. You “held our hands” throughout the project and dealt with problems so we didn’t have to” – Katherine and Dwight K.

“Thank you for getting inside my head and pulling out exactly what I wanted.” – Susan D.

5. Preparation of Construction Specifications, Plans and Agreement:

After all of the designs, materials and details have been finalized in the design process, we will prepare your final Agreement.   The Agreement includes the final investment amount for your renovation project, detailed job specifications and hand-drafted construction plans.  It also includes construction start and completion dates and the progress payment schedule.  Because each project is thoroughly planned and detailed you can have peace of mind as we proceed onto the construction phase of your project.  All you have to do now is relax and look forward to enjoying your new space!

“Obviously we are very impressed with how our project turned out.  We are equally impressed with how it was accomplished.  You planned every detail, managed the entire project flawlessly from start to finish and kept everything on schedule” – Pat and Jim H.
